About Colin Parris
Dr. Colin Parris is the General Manager for IBM’s Power Systems business in the IBM Systems & Technology Group. Dr. Parris is also a member of the IBM Performance Team and the Integration and Values Team and sits on the Board of Governors of the IBM Academy of Technology. His previous roles include Vice President and Business Line Executive, Power Systems; Vice President, Systems Software Development and Lab Services; Vice President of Industry Solutions in IBM Research; and Vice President, Strategic Growth Development, responsible for the commercialization of the Blue Gene Supercomputer. Dr. Parris received a Doctorate of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering (Ph.D.E.E.) at the University of California, Berkeley, a Masters in the Science of Management (M.S.M) from Stanford University, (as a Sloan Fellow), a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (M.S.E.E.C.S) at the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.) at Howard University. He has also received various technical and community honors and awards.
