About Ian Jarman

A leader in the IBM Power Systems community, Ian Jarman is a frequent speaker at events and user groups around the world. Ian recently worked closely with the team of IBM Research scientists that developed Watson, an optimized system developed for the IBM Jeopardy! Challenge. He has also managed a wide range of IBM Power Systems software products, including AIX, IBM i, Linux, PowerVM and PowerHA. He joined IBM in 1986 as a systems engineer in the United Kingdom and moved to the United States in 1991 to work for IBM at its Rochester, Minnesota laboratory.
